Application for Distinguished Alumni
The Affton Alumni Association and the Affton Education Foundation, both founded by the Affton School District, exist to strengthen ties with and among alumni and with the district itself.
Every spring, the Affton School District, in conjunction with both groups, hosts a Hall of Fame Dinner/Auction event at which distinguished alumni are recognized for outstanding achievement. Previous inductions have inspired students, faculty, staff, and guests by showcasing honorees’ personal stories, tributes to teachers and fond Affton memories.
We would like to recognize outstanding alumni again this year at the Hall of Fame Dinner/Auction Gala to be in March. We need your help in identifying deserving nominees in keeping with the following eligibility guidelines and criteria:
- Nominees must have graduated from Affton High School at least ten years prior to nomination. Posthumous nominations will be considered as well.
- Nominees will be evaluated for a lifetime of excellence, accomplishments, leadership and recognition in their field or fields and community involvement/service.
- Nominees will be contacted to give consent for consideration and asked to submit a resume, photograph and other information which will be helpful to the selection committee.
- Nominations will be accepted and will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Affton alumni shortly thereafter.
The newly selected honorees will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Dinner/Auction Gala to be held in March. Each will receive a personal award, and a permanent tribute will be enshrined at Affton High School in the Hall of Fame display.
Please carefully consider a possible candidate for this year’s class of inductees by completing and returning an application form by the beginning of December.
Also, be sure to mark your calendar and plan on attending our Hall of Fame Gala in March. It promises to be another inspiring and exciting event!
