Scholarship Winners 2016
Affton Education Foundation Scholarship
For the ninth time, the Affton Education Foundation awarded renewable $2,500 scholarships to be used for attendance at a four-year college or university. The five 2016 AEF scholarship recipients are:
- Student Council – President 12th grade; Executive Committee 10th & 11th grade
- National Honor Society – inducted 11th grade; Vice-President 12th grade
- International Thespian Society – Troupe 1734 – President 12th grade; Vice-President 11th grade
- Active in Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow; Eagle Scout and Eagle Scout Palms
- Honor Roll and Scholar Athlete all 4 years
- Missouri Boys State – 11th grade
- Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track
- Over 250 total Community Service hours
- Will attend the University of Kansas to study Engineering
- Active Member of Job’s Daughters – received Grand Master’s Youth Award and Job’s Daughter’s Spirit Awards
- Affton High School Band – Lettered every year

The Coach Don Kuhn Endowed Scholarship to Westminster College
Funded by Kent ('58) and Judy ('61) Mueller. The 2016 recipient is:

The Rickli Family Endowed Scholarship to Truman State University
This scholarship, funded by Ken ('58) and Cathy Rickli and dedicated to Miss Doris Ahrens, provides a renewable, full-tuition scholarship to Truman State University. The 2016 recipient is:

Jim Hoots Memorial Scholarship
A proud 1967 graduate of Affton High School, and a much beloved teacher and coach, Jim Hoots passed away in October 2013. In an effort to keep his legacy alive, the Jim Hoots Memorial Scholarship has been established to provide college funds for Affton High School scholar athletes. The 2016 recipient is:
- Varsity Football (2012-2015 seasons) – Senior Captain, Conference Defensive Player of the Year 2015, First Team All-District Linebacker 2014 & 2015, Second Team All-Metro Linebacker 2015, Second Team All-State Tight End/Receiver 2015 and Third Team All-State Linebacker 2014 & 2015
- Junior Varsity Basketball (2012-2013 season)
- Varsity Track & Field (2013-2015 seasons)

Affton Education Foundation Loan
The AEF offers a $2,500 interest free loan. The 2016 recipients are:
